OUT AND ABOUT: COTOGNA

Though he's rarely free to eat out in the city, Paul's office in the Potrero Hill neighborhood of San Francisco puts him within striking distance of some pretty fabulous eateries. Today he lunched across town at his current favorite, Cotogna (Italian for "quince"). The restaurant serves rustic Italian cuisine and offers a daily-changing menu of spit-roasted or grilled meats and fish, wood-oven pizzas and house-made pastas. Paul's report: "So fresh and understated...squash blossom pizza with capers and lime!! Cold white corn soup and bitter cherry trifle for dessert...it was so hard to choose!" YUM!  ~

LIFE WELL-LIVED

For some, living well involves great effort and a tremendous expenditure of energy. Paul's penchant for la dolce vita comes so naturally that his personal life seamlessly reflects the same attention to detail and quality that his professional life demands. As a result, a dinner table set for a simple meal with friends in Belvedere is worthy of a photo shoot.  ~

SF OFFICE: BACK TO POTRERO HILL

While M. Butler is catting around in paradise, Paul is back in the San Francisco office hard at work. He and his associates review architectural plans for a remodel in the Fresno area. More on this project as it unfolds over the next several months.... ~

IN THE NEWS: DAY THREE OF THE VERANDA PHOTO SHOOT

Working their way through the house and garden, the VERANDA team has reached the lower edge of Paul's hillside property on Belvedere Island. The charming, asymmetrical gate marks the original entrance to the historic home, which was built in 1912. Due to the island's rural nature, the team has to remove deer fencing to get an unobstructed shot of a large ceramic vessel above.
