This Palo Alto residence is a bespoke collaboration between The Wiseman Group and Eric Hedlund Design that transforms a city-lot into an intimate, art-inspired compound. Rather than a traditional single-structure home, the design unfolds across several interlinked buildings, each framing sculptural gardens by Place Landscape Architecture — creating unexpected vistas and sheltered courtyards throughout.
Inside, natural materials — limestone, oak, quartzite — are celebrated in their pure form, giving the home an understated luxury rooted in craftsmanship. Light-filled volumes flow into one another: a great room clad in limestone and back-lit oak, a kitchen and dining space equally suited for grand entertaining or quiet family meals, and private spa and media wings that evoke serenity and retreat. Bedrooms reveal hidden sophistication — one with layered oak panels illuminated by concealed lighting, another with custom 3-D-printed metallic “leaves” riffing on origami, creating a subtle sense of motion and artistry.
